AC-AIS-161 Smart Radio SR161 AIS Receiver

Smart The Smart Radio SR161 AIS Receiver is a compact, easy to install, stand alone marine receiver that monitors the channels assigned to the Automatic Identification System or AIS. This radio receiver is specially built for recreational marine environments for the intended use of deciphering Automatic Identification System data. The AIS system uses two VHF channels for broadcasting ship information. The SR161 can receive one channel at a time but is designed to scan both AIS channels and automatically use the channel with the best signal. The SR161 is designed to be used with computer-based navigation solutions using a standard RS232 serial port interface.

RHAXX00004 Nobeltec AIS Receiver 200

Nobeltec AIS may be the greatest advance in marine navigation safety since the invention of radar. Imagine looking at your radar and a “blip” or “target” pops up. Depending on your navigation situation, a number of questions may start to run through your mind. Now, imagine having all of those questions answered and much more before your radar showed that “blip”. Would you feel a little more confident and secure on the water? That technology is here and it is called the Automatic Identification System (AIS).
